Health in Times of Transition - Trends in Population Health and Health Policies in CIS Countries

The Centre for Survey Methodology (CSM) is located in Chisinau, the capital city of Moldova. Concluzia-Prim is a consulting and research-oriented SME with solid experience of provision administrative and methodological support and technical assistance to international organizations active in the region, such as US AID, UNDP and the World Bank.

The CSM will be responsible for the planning, logistic support and implementation of the empirical fieldwork of the 6th wave of the World Values Survey, which will take place between 2010 and 2012 in more than 50 countries in Europe and worldwide.

The CSM has been in charge of survey methodology, questionnaire development, external control of survey fieldwork, survey data input and creation of a national data-file for the World Values Survey No.5 in Moldova in 2006, and an ESRC survey on ‘Social Capital and Support for Democracy in Moldova’ in 2007.

The main tasks of the Centre for Survey Methodology within the HITT-CIS project will be as follows:

• Preparation and delivery of 10-nation data-set with integrated survey data of the
  World Values Survey and the New Democracies Barometer.
• Preparation and delivery of 2-nation-data-set with integrated survey data of the
  European Social Survey regarding the first 3 waves, covering Ukraine and
  Russia.
• Communication with survey organisations in 10 states during the life-time of the
  project.
• Technical and methodological support of design of English master questionnaire
  and translation as well as back-translation into specific languages.
• Technical and methodological support of workshops in preparation of fieldwork
• Planning and implementation of external fieldwork control in 10 national HITT
  survey studies.
• Planning and technical support of data entry of 10 national studies
• Cleaning and standardization of 10 national SPSS files
• Creation of integrated multi-national 10-nation-data set in SPSS format.
• Methodological support in statistical multi-level analysis of survey results
• Technical and methodological training of junior and senior academic staff in
  advanced statistical analysis
• Production of final code-book of 10 nation study with core results and technical
  documentation
