The Independent Sociological and Information Service “OPINIA” (ISIS “OPINIA”) is the first and most experienced nongovernmental institution in the Republic of Moldova, specialized in studying the public opinion, social and marketing researches. OPINIA was set up in 1992 on the basis of the former Moldovan branch of the All-Union Research Centre of Public Opinion (WCIОМ). During its 19 years of activity, OPINIA has demonstrated professionalism, efficiency and objectivity, which secured its leading position on the market of sociological research in the Republic of Moldova.
OPINIA’s full-time and part-time employees, as well the network of consultants in various research domains make up a dynamic team of professionals with extensive theoretical training and a valuable hands-on experience in interdisciplinary research, and ensure the flexibility and readiness required to meet the most complex requirements. The centre has a permanent national network that consists of more than 200 interviewers with a high level of professionalism in applying research tools relevant to each separate study and in interviewing all groups of population.
OPINIA’s staff is skilled and experienced in most methodologies including sampling and questionnaire design, survey implementation and analysis of survey data; focus groups; key informant interviewing; participatory evaluation methodologies; experimental and quasi-experimental research design including randomized trials; quantitative and qualitative methodologies; design and implementation of impact, mid-term, and periodic evaluations and the analysis, portrayal and reporting of evaluation data; publications in the media, and book publishing.
During its activity, OPINIA has implemented over 60 national and international projects in cooperation with numerous national and international organizations and sociological centers.
Key personnel that is involved in project implementation:
Dr. Olga Danii, director of Independent Sociological and Information Service “OPINIA” has great experience in program evaluation and research projects. During her scientific career she has served as coordinator, local expert-consultant and senior researcher for various national and international research projects. Dr. Danii has managed the technical components of large multi-country data-collection projects: site visits, focus groups and interviews, development and review of data instruments, and analysis of survey data and focus group data.
Ms. Mariana Mascauteanu (M.A), Researcher at ISIS “OPINIA”, has over 10 years experience in the field of Sociology. During her activity she has been involved in projects administration, collection and analysis of quantitative and qualitative data, secondary data analyses, dissemination of project results. She is currently in progress of obtaining her Ph.D. in Sociology from the Academy of Science of the Republic of Moldova, Institute of Philosophy, Sociology and Political Science.
