HITT-CIS представляет собой продолжение исследовательских усилий, начатых проектом FP5 INCO-Copernicus LLH (Условия жизни, образ жизни и здоровье), который реализован практически тем же самым консорциумом в 2000-2004 гг. В рамках предыдущего проекта мы провели опросы населения в 8 бывших советских республиках, предоставили новую важную информацию по таким вопросам, как потребление алкоголя и табака, доступ к безопасной по санитарным нормам воде и пользование услугами здравоохранения.

Основные результаты LLH

  • Состояние здоровья населения различается как между странами, так и внутри стран СНГ
  • Социо-экономические факторы в этих странах важны, но они не объясняют различия в состоянии здоровья населения между странами
  • Роль алкоголя, табака и нездорового питания как непосредственных причин смертности и плохого здоровья населения
  • Роль шока переходного периода в объяснении роста смертности и ухудшения здоровья после 1990-х гг.

В рамках проекта HITT-CIS мы расширим количество опросов до 10 стран, охватывая все Содружество Независимых Государств (СНГ) за исключением Туркменистана. Мы также проведем ряд описаний профилей населенных пунктов для того, чтобы лучше понять условия, в которых живут люди, в частности, их доступ к различным продуктам питания и здравоохранению, а также формы табачного и алеогольного маркетинга.
